It has been a while that I blog anything related to food and fortunately last Saturday I was invited by Evelyn to attend an exclusive food tasting event by OpenRice Malaysia @ Grand Millennium Hotel KL and we have Lai Ching Yuen restaurant Dim Sum Master Chef to give us a workshop on Dim Sum and personally cook for us.
Chef Kong started his career in hotel restaurant since 1990 and he is famous for his steamed siew mai with fresh scallop, deep fried bean curd roll with prawns, baked mini durian tart (just writing this, made me hungry), deep fried yam ball with custard and egg yolk and many more creation but for this workshop, we going to taste his vegetarian dim sum.
Vegetarian dim sum? well when ever come to vegetarian i always think of those faked meat that made of flours but Chef Kong showed us how dim sum without meat or any fake meat that it is still taste great!
