and a myriad of Motorsport related activities

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (8 March, 2012) – Global SportsLifestyle brand PUMA is all set to celebrate the run-up to the 2012 Malaysian F1 Grand Prix in style with an exciting campaign dubbed the Puma Motorsports Red Cube.

Held at Level 3, Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur from 7 March until 25 March 2012, the PUMA Motorsport Red Cube is part of a regional initiative to promote the thrilling new PUMA Motorsport Collection and will be the biggest pop-up store attraction located at the bustling walkway, with the Red Cube’s built-up dimensions measuring 28ft (width) x 10ft (height) x 50ft (length).

The Red Cube will showcase the latest Puma Motorsport collections that are branded with the stylish new Ferrari Shield emblem, with merchandise ranging from apparels, footwear, bags, accessories and watches.

"The PUMA Red Cube is truly a sight and event not to missed. We at Puma are very excited to be bringing this regional initiative to Pavilion in Kuala Lumpur this March and will also be running a number of fun and exciting promotions, contests and events concurrently, including giving visitors the chance to win race passes for the Malaysian F1 Grand Prix,” said Gabriel Yap, Head of Marketing for PUMA Malaysia.

Red Cube PUMA Promotions and Competitions

Visitors who purchase items worth RM500 and above in the Red Cube will not only receive a limited edition PUMA umbrella, but will also be in the running to win two passes to the Malaysian F1 Grand Prix from 23 – 25 March at the Sepang International Circuit. Customers will also receive a free mystery gift with every pair Puma motorsport footwear purchased.

PUMA announced two more events that will be held during the Red Cube campaign, where participants stand to win PUMA merchandise and cash vouchers.

“PUMA is excited to be holding the PUMA Motorsport Red Cube Fashion Runway, where we will be crowning the best Malaysian PUMA Motorsport fashion designer, as well as the PUMA Motorsport Simulator, which will crown the next top virtual racing driver,” Yap said.

To add some glamour into the world of racing, PUMA has organised the PUMA Motorsport Fashion Runway competition, where teams made up of college students will compete to design the best possible outfits utilising PUMA products and adhering to the theme of ‘motorsports’. The finals of the competition will be held live at the Pavilion Red Cube on March 15, where a panel of judges will crown the best designers as champions and award them with RM3,000 worth of Puma cash vouchers.

“This is going to be an interesting search as we are looking forward to see budding designers coming up with sassy, fun and or glitzy designs using the Puma Ferrari collection,” said Yap, who will be among the judges for the finals.

Meanwhile, the PUMA Motorsport Simulator will see participants, who will receive a RM20 PUMA voucher simply for taking part, competing to set the best lap times during the qualification stages from 8 – 22 March. The top 10 participants will qualify for the grand finals on 25th March and stand to win RM 1,500 worth of PUMA merchandises. More information can be obtained at www.facebook.com/PUMAmalaysia.

PUMA announces MERCEDES GP PETRONAS and BMW MOTORSPORT partnerships

PUMA further strengthened its presence in the world of motorsport in 2012 by cementing two new partnerships with top manufacturers and teams. From 1 January 2012, PUMA became the exclusive licensing partner to MERCEDES GP PETRONAS for footwear, apparel and accessories in a multi-year partnership agreement. Under the agreement, PUMA is also an official Team Partner and will receive prominent branding locations on the MGP W03, the team’s 2012 race car, and on all race and teamwear products. PUMA will also provide MERCEDES GP PETRONAS with its latest innovations of fireproof racewear for the team’s drivers and all technical pit personnel.

In another landmark agreement, PUMA announced in February a multi-year partnership with BMW Motorsport. From 1 Feb 2012, the global SportLifestyle brand became the Official Supplier of team apparels and racewear for all BMW Motorsport racing operations, including DTM, ALMS and various high-profile long-distance races such as the 24-hour Nürburgring pursuit.  PUMA will also assume the role of Exclusive Licensed Partner for BMW Motorsport in the Footwear, Apparel and Accessories product categories.
