Food Hunt - Lunch @ Jarrod & Rawlins

What is Jarrod & Rawlins all about? Restaurant? Pub? Delicatessen? or Café?

Well it is actually a little of all four but whether it is a restaurant or pub, surely it is one of my favorite place to feast.

I have chosen J&R for my farewell lunch with my colleagues twice in a roll, reason being, I miss their dynamite sausages.

Ambiance is casual and not too serious like those fine dining places which you could not enjoy a loud laughter. There are separated areas like dining, sport bar, open air which you can choose to enjoy your food or a couple of drinks fresh from the tap with your buddies or watch your favorite sports.

A deli counter displaying a variety of meat, sausages and cheese for take away or cook and serve right away.

Select your Wine from wine shelf and cellar to go with your food. J&R store some great wines.

Well ladies, need not me to say much.

The menu is filled with simple but great selection of English gourmet

Chicken Breast Gratin with cheese & mushroom cream sauce. RM 28

Classic Sausage Beans and Chips RM 24

Salad Nicoise with seared tuna sashimi RM 23

My favorite Dynamite sausages, charge by weight

Fish Fillet with parsley sauce serve with potatoes and zucchini RM 26.50

Spicy Seafood Marinara of prawns, mussel & calamari  RM 29

Not sure if we were very hungry but the food speak for itself ;)

Well now you know where to head to for some great pork sausages next time

I am officially independent aka jobless

Bidding farewell was never a hard thing but working with a company for more than 6 years, it does change the situation a little. (Fortunately no sobbing or hugging)

For that many years being involved in architecting and building IT infrastructure for offshore, local, regional and global, it came to an end yesterday with a great farewell from my boss and the team and today… I am officially jobless independent.

Many have asked me the same question, where you are going or which company are you going to join?  From these questions I believe when one leaves a company, they are expected to have had secure another job to ensure the income is not interrupted but unfortunately this time around I shocked everyone with my answer.

Yup! I have no employment on hand and have no intention to find one, and that sent everyone to a great shock of their life and it seems that it is something completely out of norm, well it just sound like me, completely abnormal LoL.

To satisfy everyone, I seriously have no plan ahead and will take a long break from being employed but hopefully during this period of time, I will be able to find a gold mine but it will be a journey of a thousand miles so I will just start with catching up with my books together with my cigars and a hot glass of “Teh Tarik”

First attempt with Video editing

I have been talking about doing broadcasting clips and starting an online site for it but the problem is that I have 0 experience in this area and I have no idea what to do, so I open up some video clips that I captured recently in SUPERT GT and tried playing with it in an editing software.

It is not that very tough but it would need a creative mind to it and the only thing I struggled so far is the output. I couldn’t figure out how to output it to the original HD video with 1920 X 1080p and only manage to get 320 and the quality is degraded a lot.

Here is the lower quality of the output, give me some comments.

Finally manage to output a Full HD version, what do you think?

I played alot with transition function so the video won't start at blank point and a sudden blasts of the volume. I put in a fade in volume control and also black dip when the video starting and lastly of course i have inserted my blog logo to it.

Food Hunt - Lunch @ Tanzini, G Tower

Well, the Super GT fever has gone and everyone is back to work and back to their routine. With this, I might as well go and try to search for food.

Me and my colleagues wanted to try out this restaurant for a long while now and to treat one of my colleague who won the biggest loser (self version with 3 of us in the office) with him losing 5kgs in weight and me gaining instead of losing (LoL)

Tanzini is an Italian fine dining restaurant located on the 28th floor of G-Tower Business Hotel @ Jalan Tun Razak and it is just walking distance from my office so we set out early to beat the lunch crowd.

The G-Tower lobby is nice and elegant for its business hotel but finding our way up to the restaurant is kind of a challenge but we manage to at the end with the help of a security personnel  who tagged us into the barricaded elevator lobby.

Tanzini offers 2 set lunches from Monday to Saturday. Set 1 is a 3 course Set Lunch priced at RM65 ++ and Set 2 is a 2 course set lunch with a choice of Starter and Main or Main and Dessert for RM 45++

The ambience and interior deco spell elegant and sleek modern dining room design with leather upholstering and contemporary furniture.

A great view of the KL Skyline is just within sight from our dining table.

Instead of being another typical Italian restaurant just serving olive oil/vinegar dip for the bread, here we found another 2 types of dip, tomato/bell pepper, and chili flakes/olive oil for your pleasure.

3 types of bread were served while we were waiting for our starters to arrive. We were kind of disappointed as there were 3 of us and the bread was not enough for us to taste all 3 different flavors and when we asked for more, the server was kind of reluctant and returned to us with just 2 breads.

From our observation, the breads was not served accordingly, we notice many table got their bread after the drinks was served and some arrived later got their breads first then others.

Our starter, Antipasta

Lunch Mocktail Promotion RM 18++ buy one free one with the choice Trattoria Lychee and Fruit Delight. All of us agree that the Trattoria Lychee is a better choice and it is like a Virgin Mojito with Lychee and the Fruit Delight is just another fruit juice.

The main was served timely and without much of wait our dish arrived one by one after our starter. The presentation looks ordinary, would expect something more fancy or extraordinary given the ambience and the luxurious of the restaurant.

Char-Grilled Lamb Rack with homemade chilli fettuccine and jumbo asparagus

Grilled Organic Baby Chicken with jumbo asparagus and pappardelle granna padano "Alfedo"

Herbs Baked Organic Jade Perch Fillet with Mizuna salad with jumbo asparagus and blood orange aioli

Lastly, we ended our lunch with the desert of the day. We all agreed on the flavour is on the strong side but it does the job to fill our craving.

We noticed the speakers doesn't fit the spot, maybe a Bose will be more elegant? Or hide it?
